Korea Trip

I Fell in Love in Jeju

Jeju Island is surrounded by a few other smaller islands. The biggest of them is called Udo Island which means Cow Island. To get there, we need to take a 15-20 minutes ferry.

It’s the start of the day so very semangat to take pic and pose around hahaha

The ride was super bumpy no thanks to the rough sea. It was super scary lor, just like a cat, I’m very afraid of water one. Then again, it kept us company. XD

Udo Flying Ice-Cream Peak

There are tour bus at the Udo harbor, so just hop on it, and it will ferrying you to the interesting spots around the island.

We don’t have any cliff in Malaysia, so when we saw this we were excited.

Although, the sky was cloudy but the view was still very pretty.

It didn’t stopped us to take lots of photographs.

Die die must take an emo-showing-my-hairbun-shot hahaha

Jeju Island is famous for their giant tangerines, so eventually you get to find tangerine ice cream.

Apa lagi buy and try lor…

but I forgot to do the conversion before I buy. Maiku, it’s the most expensive ice cream I ever had in my life. Must take a photo to memorize this moment.

By the way, this place is actually called Udo Peak but I named it Flying-Ice-Cream Peak because…

the wind was very very strong OAO!! My Ice cream kept getting blew away by it.

Wei, don’t like this, my ice cream very expensive one leh.

There’s two options you can choose to do there, one to walk up to the top of the peak with the lighthouse or walk down to the sea side. We chose the latter one as we did not have enough time to spent there.

This is such a good place to be emo. XD

The bus then dropped us off at the side of the road.

It was a seaside with a lighthouse at the end. This place wasn’t as interesting as the Udo Peak but it was a good walk and we spotted some interesting stuff.

Some horses by the road. (P/S: They eat horse meat there.) One of my friends managed to hand fed them without permission. hahaha

Another is these! Fresh Sashimi! There was a shop with a lot of uncles and aunties inside. The rule of finding a good food is looking for a shop with a lot of customers. So we went in and ordered the smallest plate and it costed us RM120. – _ – *please kill me*

In case, you are wondering what are those, there are Abalone, Sea Slug and Sea Snail. If you’re there, don’t ordered them… because

they are freaking HARD! So hard that I didn’t get to bite off a single piece. 😐

I would suggest you to keep your money for the next dish.

Hallasan Fried Rice at Rodem Garden Restaurant, Udo Island

The Hallasan Fried Rice is actually Spicy Pattaya Cheese Fried Rice.

First, you are served with Spicy Rice Cake. After you are finished, they will put rice on the same hot plate with the left over sauce and stir fry it, and topped it with plenty eggs and cheese.

So simple yet so good OMG! So gonna make this at home. Egg + Cheese + Fried Rice = Awesomeness

Remember to look for this restaurant, Rodem Garden Restaurant ^ ^

…by the beach..

..with a friendly Husky.

Fall in Love with Sangumburi

We went back to Jeju island after the Hallasan Fried Rice lunch.

They brought us to this park. It was there that I…

I fall in love….

with grass (lalang). Omg the place is just lovely!!

It’s just rumput lalang but it’s so pretty. Cincai take also cantik hahaha

All of us went crazy over there and starting to take photos here and there as if we never seen grass before. Actually, grass yes, but silver grass no. hahaha

Lucky got a blogger friend with me, so I can used her as model hahaha.

Tak tahan, i also joined in. “Annyeonghaseyo”

You only get to see this silver grass scenery during the Autumn. If you come during the summer or spring, it will be just normal green grass you have behind your house.

On the right side is the volcano crater but it is now covered with trees.

Samguburi, definitely a must visit place in Jeju. It is my most favorite spot of all the places we went to in Jeju.

Love this photo the most, it’s like the cover of a drama series hahahaha XD

Cinta in Jeju

Last month I was invited for a FAM trip to Jeju, the largest off coast island of Korea, an island with 3 UNESCO titles. For those who are into Korean dramas, Jeju is a not an uncommon name to them since many movies and drama had been shot there.

The journey to there took us two flights, one from KL, Malaysia to Seoul, Incheon Airport ( 6 hours 15 min)and another from Gimpo Airport to Jeju Island (1 hour). Gimpo Aiport is 45 min shuttle bus ride from Incheon Airport.

As we were taking Koreanair, we flew from KLIA terminal, I almost went to the wrong one. Luckily I followed my friend, Shisa‘s car else I would have gone to KLIA 2 on my own.

When I reached there, I saw someone familiar from far.

I accidentally mistaken someone else for Chingy. Omg. I almost went and hit the wrong person in the head. Luckily I managed to stop in time from assaulting a stranger. The stranger appears to be one of the media who is going with us to Jeju.

To be honest, I mistaken her as Chingy a couple more times in Jeju. 😐 Have you mistaken someone for your friend and you did horrible thing to her/him?

Speaking of Koreanair, it is very comfortable, the food was great, the seat was comfy and spacious, and the air stewardess are God dead gorgeous.

Just that, they looked almost alike.

After almost 12 hours of traveling, from night time 11pm to the next day 11am, we finally reached Jeju. Luckily there’s free wifi to keep us entertained. When they mean Free, they really mean it.

Jeju island is almost the size of Kuching Metro with a population of 500k+. It is not a very dense city, so there weren’t much high rise.

First thing first, makan!

We had Jeju Korean food, it looks like normal korean food a main dish and many side dishes but it is very different as they use very different ingredients and preparation method in which many of them native to Jeju.

Aewol Coastal Road

After filling our empty tummies, we took a 30 min ride to Aewol Coastal Road.

It’s a beautiful seaside with many cafes. A great place to just chilled and have a cup of coffee.

There’s a walkway along the seaside, very nice spot to paktor or just relax or take some photo shots. XD

le me tying my hair.

le shisa taking emo shots.

Kenapa Malaysia macam takde tempat macam ni.

For those who is a big fan of GDragon from Big Bang. This cafe is a must visit.

You won’t get to see GDragon there but this is a cafe opened by him. XD For coffee lovers, Korean coffee are very mild, you might not like it, actually those packed coffee in 7-11 actually tasted better. XD

Play KPOP Interactive Museum

Kpop fans would love this place a lot. It’s a 3D interactive Museum with Kpop artist, notably Big Bang and 2NE1.

A best location to learn the history of Kpop.

You get to pura-pura ( play pretend) with them. Hahaha

You even get to have GD laying on your legs hahah

or even get a kiss from him XD

or even dance with the whole Big Bang group.

The highlight of the museum is the 3D hologram concert where the kpop artist will perform in front of you as if he’s there due to the hologram effect making him looks 3D from any angle.

We went to GD’s. We all likes Big Bang. Lol. Too bad no photographing was allowed in there.

The aunties appears to be much more excited and danced around where the youngster all stood quietly and watched the show.

BBQ Dinner

Korean BBQ for dinner! Something I looked forward to as I heard Jeju is famous for their black pork.

And it was really good. Sweet and less porky than normal pork.

The other table had Beef but I don’t eat beef so no comment. hahaha.

That’s the end of my first half day. It was a good start 😀

A view of the city from my room.

Here’s a clip of Day 1 by Suria FM. Try to spot me in there hahaha.

  • 5 minutes driving distance away from the shopping street.

What to eat in Chengdu.

Damiao Hot Pot Restaurant

Chengdu is capital of Sichuan. Sichuan is famous for their spicy and numbing food. Damiao is one of the famous restaurants in Chengdu serving Sichuan hot pot.

We were afraid that the Spicy soup will be too much for us to handle, so we order another herbal soup based as a backup plan. And thank God, that we did, we get to switch between the two when our tongue got too numb.

Do remember to book before hand ya.

Long Chao Shou Restaurant

Here’s the place to go if you want to taste all Chengdu’s signature dishes in one go.

Ask for a full package, and you will be served with over 20 dishes.

Don’t worry, the dishes are in bite size, so you will get sample everything, nevertheless, by the time we at our 20 dish, we were at our limit.

Hongqiangjiyi Restaurant

This is an interesting place as they serve creative Chengdu cuisine.

And look at their interior design, its like a living room.

It’s all Chengdu Cuisine but with a little twist, either a different way of preparation or a replacement of ingredients.

Oh oh, there’s this salad vegetable that has crystallized water drops on it, do remember to order that if you’re in Chengdu. It’s good. XD Very crispy and refreshing.

One of the most interesting fact of Chengdu food is that, they eat animals that hops…

and they tasted like chicken. hahaha

Fu Yue Xuan Chinese Restaurant @ Dorsett Grand Chengdu

Before this, I mentioned that I had my best Dan Dan Mee in Dorsett Grand Chengdu. The hotel is also a great place to have your dinner as well. The Fu Yue Xuan Restaurant in Dorsett serves Chinese Western Fusion dishes.

It’s a great place to bring your clients or special one, as the dishes are an artwork on its own. We had almost 30 dishes that night, everything I had was super awesome.

I think the highlight of the night for me is this dish, Wagyu Beef. It was my first time having Wagyu beef.

Hahaha must try ma to understand why everyone is so crazy about all these Wagyu and Kobe beefs.

Many knows that I don’t take beef. I used to be allergy to it and would diarrhea if I had them but now I just not used to the beefy taste.

But, Wagyu is so amazing, it doesn’t has the beefy weird taste but the good and sweet aroma of it. I took a couple of it that night. I was the first time that I had so much beef on my own will.

Taoping Qiang Village

If you are in Taoping, don’t forget to try Qiang Tribe food.

They seldom takes fresh meat. What they do is they cut the meat into pieces and dry it on a beam. Then, smoke the meat to make its color yellow. It is said that the longer the meat was kept, the more delicious it becomes. When serving, they cut the meat into small pieces and either fry or steam it with different kinds of vegetables. It is greasy but quite tasty.

Another is Yak Meat. Yak is a type of cow, a hairy furry cow. XD It’s like beef but much more tinder than normal beef and also doesn’t has the beef taste. It’s like pork but not pork. hahahah

Grandma MaPo Tofu Restaurant

Last meal of the trip. This restaurant is located just right opposite of Dorsett Grand Hotel. Super near. They serve good Sichuan dishes with their signature MaPo Tofu.

This is good, I think its Peppery Rabbit Meat.

We had another 10 over dishes that night and more than half of them looks like this:

It’s so delicious but are they trying to kill me?

or are they trying to save my flight ticket by sending me home this way. hahaha.
