Continue from  Sarawak Trip: Part 1 | 2 | 3 | Ghost In Bintulu |3.5 | 4.0 | Brunei

Bid Brunei farewell and we are now at the Limbang!!! \(@ ̄∇ ̄@)/

except this, I actually have not much knowledge about this land.

I heard that it is a strategic location for business as they get many Brunei tourists came to this town to buy vegetables, fruits and groceries over the weekend.

There’s only one shopping complex in this town which happens to have a hotel above it and that’s where I stayed..

So yeah, no paranormal activities that night. ^^”

As we will be leaving the town around noon the next day, I woke up super early to catch a glimpse of the place before we left.

Limbang division has two towns, Limbang Town and Lawas town which located on the other side of Limbang after Brunei and next to Sabah.

The hotel + shopping complex.

The shopping complex cater the needs of the 40,000 people who stayed in this town. The businesses here are doing great since there are no other competitors. Open a bubble tea stall/shop, confirm you will be counting your money until you forgot what is frown. ( ★ω★)

Tua Pek Kong temple. There’s one in every single towns and cities I covered in this Sarawak Roadtrip series.

The trapped mist on the hills makes me feel as if I’m on the highland near the clouds.

You can get to Labuan with this express boat which only costs you RM24 per round trip.

Found these freshly made and bbq fishcakes in the wet markets.

Only RM1 per stick, so cheap can die.  (๑>ᴗ<๑)

Here’s the old part of the town.

Old shops *imaging turning them into hipster cafes* ( ´ ▽ ` )

Woohooo a Tamu Pagi (morning market) !!  (((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))

I love local market!! Sometimes when I go to a market like this feels like as if I’m going for a treasure hunt and I never know what interesting stuffs are waiting there to surprise me.

And just a 2 minutes walk, I saw this…

The clams are as big as the lady’s fist!!!

WAHH  some almost the size of the coconut!!

Too bad I don’t eat clams. ( ̄ω ̄)

Have anyone tried this kind of durian before?

I didn’t buy it as i don’t feel like having durian that time. Now, I kinda regret. T^T

I shall called it Blood Durian! coz I want and it sounds cooler. LOL #sukahatisaja

I bought this tho! This is called Tahai!!

A type of dried smoked fish. And it tasted awesome!!!! O(≧∇≦)O

If you like fish and you like smokey taste!

Then mix it with sambal and rice and you have Nasi Tahai!!

My first and last meal in Limbang. ( ̄~ ̄)

On our way out of Limbang, we dropped by a Museum / Fort Limbang.

Rajah Brooke, the Rajah of Sarawak Kingdom build fort in all major town back in the old days to protect the people from Pirates. This fort was build in the year 1887.

It looks more like a banglo than a fort ( ̄ー ̄)

Now it is a Museum document the history and people of Limbang.

Well, I shall see you again in future, Limbang, the town of Buffaloes.

Hopefully, I can revisit all the town and cities of Sarawak again but as a tourist instead of a passerby.

Well, that ends my Sarawak Roadtrip. Now to go home..

It takes 12-14 hours to travel from Miri to Kuching depending on how fast you drive.

The journey is not only long but dangerous as well..

Seriously!! There were many close calls!!!  (╬⁽⁽ ⁰ ⁾⁾ Д ⁽⁽ ⁰ ⁾⁾)

That’s the end of my Sarawak Roadtrip Series. Hope you enjoyed.

Brunei Trip

Miao invaded the country, Brunei Darussalam

Continue from  Sarawak Trip: Part 1 | 2 | 3 | Ghost In Bintulu |3.5 | 4.0 | Brunei

Our last destination is Limbang. The last division of  Sarawak which is separated by Brunei.

So to get into Limbang we have to pass tru Brunei.

And so we did!

The toll to the “highway” to Brunei.

Beside going through the immigration, another way to know you’re in Brunei is when…

The road is super smooth can!!

If only we have this real highway in Sarawak.

Cursed the xxxx who said this..

Our landscape is the same with Brunei. Stupid old man. #cursedieyou

Smooth road means no more neck cracking road!!

First stop in Brunei was the Ministry of Tourism of Brunei. I found out the King aka Prime Minister aka Minister of  Tourism too supposed to meet us on that day but he couldn’t make it. That’s too bad. :( It would be an awesome experience if that happens.

In case, you guys don’t know. This year is the first year of Visit Sarawak Year, it’s a campaign to promote the various festivals and point of interest we have to both the locals as well as the foreign tourists.

The theme song:

Well, my job was to follow them and document the journey across this land of hornbills. It’s not a tour trip so there wasn’t much touristy to share.

Alright, back to Brunei XD

We drove passed this majestic looking building. Not sure what it is but i think it’s the Prime minister office if not mistaken.

Le shophouse in Brunei. They have *Jawi signboards, just like Kelantan.

(*thanks for the correction :) )

And lot’s of Pepsi signboards too instead of  Coca colas. Brunei love pepsi more?

I noticed something in Brunei. First,

Most of the house are detached houses with yards! Not much terrace or semi detached houses. And I believe they have super low crime rate, most of the houses has no fence.

Oh and, there aren’t much high rise, at most only 5 floors?

Later only I found out it’s a law that…

Before we left Brunei for Limbang, the team decided to drove into the city centre let us noobs to have a look at Brunei.

If not mistaken, this is a shopping mall.

Sushi restaurant. They say Brunei has awesome sushis.

I don’t believe, unless someone from Brunei wanna treat me to prove it. *koff koff*

And be hold!!!

The grand mosque of Brunei.  The Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque. It’s gorgeous.

While some of the rangers went in for prayers, I sneaked off and have a look more of the city.

This four buildings are part of the shopping mall. Super quiet for a Saturday evening.

The street was kinda empty too.

The only busy place was the river. Super happening like highway.

They even has a signboard in by the river.

On the other side is the floating village. The village is huge, there’s school and field on the floating village. And everyone who stays there are darn rich, the house may looked like ordinary wooden house from the outside. Don’t be fooled!!

I saw a video before, the interior is like a palace itself with glittering crystal lamps and stuff. Each house even has their own boats!

Couldn’t get too far on foot, and afraid the rest might be waiting for me. I rushed my way back.

Back there; out of curiosity, I asked…

An… unique weekend I must say to have a day separating the weekend. Well look at the bright side, there’s two Fridays (Thursday and Saturday) LOL

But still it’s a rather tooo quiet even for a working day. 😐

Maybe Bruneians no need work?

Miao at HAPA-GAB 2014 Outlet of the Year and Best Resto-Bar Winner, SOULed Out @ Sri Hartamas

:: Please do not read this before you buka puasa ::

So the other day I was in KL…

so here’s the food blog post. It’s been a long time since I do a food post.

I was happened to be in the city and Anna asked me to join her for a food testing event.

It was a private media engagement media for Sri Hartamas’s SOULed Out for winning the HAPA-GAB 2014 Outlet of the Year and also the Best Resto-Bar Winner. Fuyooh an awarded bar!

This means that their environment, service and the most important food must be really good!!

SOULed OuT has prepared a special menu for us to try.

Appetizer up!!

SOULed Out Satays!!!

I love satays a lot!! And what I love about their satay is that it is all made of lean meat. I don’t like having fat meat in between my satays. Go away fat meat!

Next up, Fried Beef Noodles!!

Seriously, it was super smooth and tender. Normally, beef tends to be chewy but not this. It was so tender, that I kinda suspect it’s identity. LOL Seriously, I didn’t know it was Beef until Anna confirmed with me.

Le Chicken Cordon Bleu!!

Boneless whole chicken leg wrapped around chicken sausage with cheese and chicken ham!! So many layers like chicken-meat-ception!!  XD

Sizzling Lamb Cutlets!

Lamb cutlets marinated on special Northern Indian spices on a sizzling plate.

Sake San Pizza!

Yes, it’s a fusion food! I love fusion of anything, food, art, fashion and even *koff koff* girls *koff koff*

So what is Sake San Pizza? Well…

typo: not*

Beside salmon, the pizza was also topped with roe, cherry tomatoes, Japanese mayo, lollo rosso and some wasabi.

Alright, coming up next is my second favorite dish of the day!

Summertime Salad!!

Grilled seafood, Orange segments, alfafa sprouts drizzled with homemade vinaigrette and bla bla bla… Grilled Seafood!!!!

I’m a cat, and seafood means everything to me! LOL The grilled seafood in the salad was awesome! So soo fresh. The prawns was juicy and bouncy and the calamari was tender soft! oh my cat god!!! Tender soft grilled calamari is so hard to get!! I have very weak and sensitive teeth, so tenderness means a lot to me  ^-^”

Alright, be hold the king of the dish of the night (for me)…

Chicken Makanwala (Spicy Onion Gravy)!

When I first read the name on the menu list, I was expecting it to be very onion-ish and spicy. It’s a Northern Indian food, it should carries punches ready to throw at my tongue. Well, that’s what I thought.

And it turned out…

Such a gentle but amazingly appetizing dish. I couldn’t stopped digging the gravy, it is so good.

So good that it goes well with everything!

almost everything.

And we’re done!

7 SO Lip Smacking dishes  from the 4 kitchens of SOULed Out namely, Western, Asian, Northern Indian and So Pizza. So much good food for a night. What’s better to wash them down with fresh GAB brews.

Love the new Tiger Radler because it doesn’t taste bitter and as gassy as normal beer. Anna said it’s too sweet and it’s a lady beer, but ironically she didn’t drink Radler also. =_=

How can we forgot about dessert!!

One of the best lava cake ever because it’s not too sweet!! My teeth can’t stand sweet food. So this is just purfect!!

Like all chocolate lava cake, it goes so well with vanilla ice cream~~ they are like the best couple ever!

Maybe I can make it better…

Okay maybe not.

Since the world cup season is here, SOULed OUT seems to be an ideal hangout spot for football fans.
